Duck, Duck, Goose!

The Rochester Arts Council sponsored 18 concrete goose statues decorated by local artists and displayed by local businesses. The locations and descriptions were announced in June and it has been a family quest to locate and be photographed with all 18. The last one was located and shot (with a camera) on Friday with the able participation of Sherry's cousins, Abby and Maggie.
For all 18, there is the obligatory posed shot, followed by one or more funny face shots. For a few, Y & E struck a good "duck" pose so that we could have a real photo of, "Duck, Duck, Goose." We managed to pull off an unsuspecting Duck, Duck, Goose shot of Abby and Maggie for fun too.

It's all about the Hair!

Nebraska cousins, Abby and Maggie are still indulging us by making a trip to visit their old(est?) cousin, Sherry in MN. Abby and Maggie are like rock stars in this house! Y, E, K and A have been counting the days until their visit and making list after list of all the things they'll do with them when they came!

Yasmin endured sleeping on the sponge rollers to get one step closer to having hair like Abby and Maggie.

Taking Flight!

One of the kids favorite rewards has become camping out in the living room on the weekends. It's a privilege that is reserved for weekends but has become a family tradition. There are three pieces of furniture suitable for sleeping in the living room (including Elias' preference for an armchair and footstool combination) so now that Ahn-Bao has started joining in this alternative sleeping arrangement, we have a designated portable mattress which is moved to the living room on the weekends.

The mattress is a serious, attractive nuisance and Mom has almost given up saying, "stop jumping on the mattress." Dad caught these photos of Ahn-Bao in flight, jumping from the coffee table to the mattress. Those of you that have known us for a long time may remember that Bob tested this actual coffee table when we bought it 20+ years ago for its "jump-off-ability" and it has stood the test . . . so far!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Yasmin and Elias participated in FCA day camp for four days the week of July 13. They had two days of tennis and two days of soccer and all appreciated their independence . . . absence makes the heart grow fonder? Elias' "huddle" leader was Elizabeth and Yasmin's was Hannah.
